Volyn Regional State Administration deputy announces the seizure of the UOC convent in Volyn

A deputy of the Volyn Regional Council, Andriy Bokoch, said that the state has plans to expropriate the complex of premises of the Holy Dormition Zymnensky Stavropegial Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Bokoch noted that it will not be as easy to take away the Zymne monastery as, for example, the Cathedral of the Vladimir-Volyn Diocese of the UOC, but the mood for this step is quite decisive. He spoke about this in an interview with Rayon.in.ua.
“The Zimnensky Monastery is a great bastion, which needs a long time to prepare for its capture. I am sure that very serious lawyers will work there. Mother Abbess will not give up easily. She will surely defend her monastery, but we are also preparing for this,” — Bokoch said.
Earlier, we reported that Ukrainian MP Ihor Huz expressed his intention to take away a number of monasteries in the Volyn region from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church after the state completes the expropriation of the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the UOC. The next targets for expropriation will be the Holy Dormition Monastery in the village of Zymno and the Holy Dormition Monastery in the village of Nyzkynychi.
