Earlier, Ihor Huz spoke about the future of the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr-Volynskyi, which also houses the diocesan administration and theological school. According to the deputy, the public expects that after the court decision to transfer the complex to state ownership, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church should voluntarily leave the premises and not put up any resistance. Otherwise, the deputy threatens that he will attract several hundred people from the “patriotic public” who will ensure the transfer of the Cathedral to the state and the OCU.
MP Huz invites head of OCU to hold religious events in the Cathedral of Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the UOC

On March 27, 2025, Ukrainian MP Ihor Huz met with the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko. During the conversation, the MP invited the head of the Ukrainian schism to hold religious events at the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is currently undergoing expropriation into state ownership. Guz wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“I met in Kyiv with His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. He informed me about the situation with the Assumption Cathedral in Volodymyr and expressed hope that representatives of the UOC-MP would not commit provocations during the eviction and would comply with the court decision. Otherwise, the community will facilitate this process without any problems. I believe that His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy himself should serve the first service after the return of the cathedral to the state. This will be an important event for Ukrainian Orthodoxy, which will undoubtedly bring together thousands of OCU believers from all over the country,” – the MP said.
