“Trump's confessor” calls fake information about persecution of the Church in Ukraine

The American pastor Mark Burns, who is called “Trump’s confessor,” said that the information about the persecution of the Church in Ukraine is fake. According to Burns, the religious leaders he met with in Ukraine did not tell him anything of the sort. He said this in an interview with Kyiv independent.

“I, like people around the world, have been brainwashed by fake news about Ukraine in the media. For example, fake news claimed that Ukraine hates the Church, that Ukraine is hostile to religious organizations, that it persecutes clergy. However, this is a blatant lie, because I was among the largest spiritual leaders of Ukraine from different denominations and religious organizations in one hall in Kyiv, and they all share a common position – they have the right to practice their faith in Ukraine,” – Burns said.

Earlier, we reported that Mark Burns, the personal spiritual adviser to US President Donald Trump, arrived in Ukraine, where he took part in an interfaith forum together with representatives of religious organizations of the country. Burns received an invitation to visit Ukraine from the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Moshe Reuven Asman.
