Propagandist Sonya Koshkina pays compensation for moral damages to UOC bishop about whom she spread fake news

Ukrainian propagandist, editor-in-chief of the Left Bank and lobbyist for the OCU, Sonya Koshkina, has paid compensation for moral damages to the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bishop Mykyta (Storozhuk) of Ivano-Frankivsk, about whom she spread fake news in the controlled media. The compensation was paid as part of a court decision that recognized the propagandist’s allegations against the UOC bishop as false. This is reported by the Telegram channel “First Cossack”.

It is reported that after Sonya Koshkina published a fake about the alleged same-sex relationship between Bishop Mykyta of Ivano-Frankivsk and one of the clergy, the bishop sued the propagandist. The court sided with the UOC hierarch, accusing the journalist of spreading false information that defamed his business reputation. The court’s decision states that Koshkina is obliged to refute the previously published false information and pay moral compensation in the amount of 35078 hryvnias.

“Anti-church propagandist and author of disgusting fakes Sonya Koshkina has already transferred the funds that the court ordered to be paid to Bishop Nikita of Ivano-Frankivsk. The court ordered the pseudo-journalist not only to refute the black lies on the pages of her media outlets, but also to pay compensation for moral damages and reimburse legal costs. However, the author of the fake about the “naked seminarian” somehow “modestly” and formally refuted the lie. She did so in the most inconspicuous way possible, both on her Twitter account and on the pages of LB. So that their readers would not even notice this news on the pages of the trash,” – First Cossack noted.

Earlier, we reported that the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv found unreliable the information about “sexual intimacy” between a cleric of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese of the UOC, Archimandrite Mykyta (now Bishop of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia) and a minor, which was disseminated on her telegram channel by a well-known Ukrainian journalist and lobbyist for the OCU, editor-in-chief of the publication “Left Bank” Sonya Koshkina. During the trial, the journalist was found guilty of lying and ordered to pay 20 thousand hryvnias in moral compensation to the victim.
