No Ukrainian TV channel will broadcast services from UOC churches

Ukrainian media outlets are publishing broadcast schedules for Easter religious events. Among the denominations that will be given airtime on Easter are the OCU, the UGCC, and even Roman Catholics. At the same time, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is apparently not going to broadcast Easter services. This is reported by Suspilne Kultura.

It is reported that the Suspilne Kultura TV channel will show:

“April 19 at 23:00 — Solemn service of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on the occasion of the feast of the Holy Resurrection of Christ, Easter.

April 20 at 7:00 — Easter services of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church from the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ.

April 20 at 11:00 — Easter Mass of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine from St. Alexander’s Church in Kyiv.”

“Ukrainian Radio and Radio Culture will broadcast:

“On April 20 at 00:05 — a solemn service of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on the occasion of the Holy Resurrection of Christ live from St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.

April 20 at 8:35 a.m. — a solemn service of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on the occasion of the Holy Resurrection of Christ live from the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv.”

Despite the fact that the authorities urge believers of all faiths to stay at home on Easter night, the broadcast of services from the churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is unfortunately not provided.
