Fox News, during the broadcast of Easter services, referred to Kyiv as part of Russia

The American TV channel Fox News, while broadcasting Easter services from the main churches of different countries, indicated the capital of Ukraine as part of Russia. During the broadcast, Easter services in the Vatican, Kyiv, and St. Petersburg were simultaneously broadcast on the screen. At the same time, under the picture with the broadcast from the capital of Ukraine, it was signed “Kyiv, Russia”. This was reported by Espresso.

It is reported that most of the stream was devoted to the service from Moscow, where a Russian sermon was broadcast without translation. Meanwhile, nearby, in a small “window”, the OCU religious event was broadcast from St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv, led by Epiphany Dumenko.

At first, the Fox News caption editor signed the video broadcast as follows: “Easter service: Kyiv, Ukraine”. However, after a short pause and a new start, Fox News changed the caption to “Kyiv, Russia”. With this caption, the broadcast from the Kyiv Cathedral remained for more than 30 minutes. Later, the editors corrected the caption to “Kyiv, Ukraine”.

Later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to this incident on Fox News. The ministry demanded an apology from the TV channel.

“If it was a mistake and not a deliberate political statement, we should apologize and investigate who made the mistake,” – said Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi.

It should be reminded that American pastor Mark Burns, often referred to as Trump’s “spiritual advisor,” stated that the reports of church persecution in Ukraine are fake. According to Burns, the religious leaders he met with in Ukraine did not mention anything similar.
