Hierarch of the Phanar called for an active fight against manifestations of anti-Semitism

The head of the American Archdiocese of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Archbishop Elpidophoros, called for an active fight against anti-Semitism. He said this during a meeting with a delegation of 16 leaders of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), which visited the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of the United States the day before. This is reported by The Orthodox Times.
“I am ready to work side by side with the AJC in the fight against outright anti-Jewish sentiment, as well as with those who claim to be protected from anti-Semitism, but often contribute to what they pretend to be against… Finally, in welcoming you all to the Archdiocese of America, I would like to quote His Holiness Bartholomew, who said in 2003: “Judaism and Christianity have lived in a state of dialogue for two thousand years. We must continue to speak, and we will make the world listen!”, — Archbishop Elpidophoros said.
Earlier, Archbishop Elpidophoros called the war between Russia and Ukraine “fratricidal madness.” The hierarch noted that the war in Ukraine was caused by political ambitions, and the conflict itself is “unnecessary and heartless.”
