“A year has passed”: Network shows how Kyiv authorities “organized” the territory of the demolished Tithe Church of the UOC

A year after the barbaric demolition of the St. Volodymyr and Olga (Tithe) Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kyiv, the site where the building stood is overgrown with weeds. Despite the fact that the land plot is located in the historic district of the capital, the city authorities, who had previously approved the demolition of the UOC church, did not even bother to remove the construction waste left after the dismantling. The photo was posted on his Facebook account by Kyiv resident Viktor Kushnir.
«Tithe Monastery of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. History. They said that the church does not fit into the architecture and spoils the view. Now there are weeds and garbage. It’s much better now. Doesn’t the pole of the perun 50 meters to the left bother anyone?», — the author of the photo wrote.
We recall that immediately after the demolition of the Tithe Church in 2024, a representative of the National Museum of History of Ukraine spoke about the institution’s plans for the land on which the St. Volodymyr of Olhynia (Tithe) Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which was demolished the day before, was located. According to the director general of the National Museum, Fedir Andrushchuk, excavations will be conducted on the site, and later excursions will be organized.
