AUCCRO delegation in Washington, DC, speaks about oppression of Jews in uncontrolled territories

A delegation of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations has completed a foreign visit to the United States that lasted for the past few days. All the meetings held by AUCCRO representatives were devoted to religious persecution in the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This time they even discussed the persecution of Jews. However, not a single conversation was devoted to the issue of banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is reported on the website of the AUCCRO.

“At a meeting with representatives of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), the AUCCRO delegation spoke about religious oppression in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular, the curtailment of Jewish religious life in the cities of Donetsk and Luhansk since the beginning of 2014 as a result of Russian aggression. Rabbi Andrew Baker, responsible for international affairs of the committee, emphasized the continued support of Ukraine by the AJC and provided practical recommendations for more effective use of international platforms to disseminate truthful information about the Russian-Ukrainian war and the crimes of the Russian Federation in the field of religion in particular and against humanity in general,” – the release said.

Earlier, we reported that the Director of National Intelligence of the United States, Tulsi Gabbard, accused Volodymyr Zelenskyy of persecuting the opposition, violating freedom of speech and closing churches. Gabbard drew attention to the fact that there are huge problems with the observance of human rights and freedoms in Ukraine, and this issue is not being resolved.
