Kherson RSA reports on number of UOC parishes re-registered in favor of OCU

The Kherson Regional State Administration published data on the number of parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church that were re-registered to the OCU 9 months after the adoption of the scandalous anti-church law No. 3894, aimed at banning the activities of the UOC. In addition, the Regional State Administration told whether there are religious organizations of the Russian Orthodox Church in the region. This was reported by Glavkom.

According to published data, six parishes in the Kherson region were re-registered from the UOC to the OCU, while no religious organizations of the Russian Orthodox Church were registered in the region.

In addition, as of 2024, there were 116 communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the region. Such data was published taking into account the fact that 70% of the Kherson region was occupied, and therefore the Kherson Regional State Administration is unable to implement the provisions of Law No. 3894 in the uncontrolled territories.

As we reported earlier, in the Ternopil region, since August 2024, when the anti-church law No. 3894 was adopted, not a single religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has been re-registered in favor of the OCU.
