Not a Single UOC Community in Ternopil Region Has Joined the OCU Since the Adoption of Law No. 3894

In less than two weeks, the nine-month period stipulated by Law No. 3894 will expire. However, according to official data from the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, not a single religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in Ternopil Region has transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) since the law was adopted. This was reported by the Svoboda website.
In response to an information request, Deputy Head of the Regional Administration Taras Pastukh stated that as of August 20, 2024, there were 91 religious organizations of the UOC operating in the region: 85 parishes, 4 monasteries, 1 diocesan administration, and a theological seminary. Between August 20, 2024 and April 14, 2025, none of them changed their canonical affiliation.
Earlier, it was reported that the Rivne Regional Military Administration also released figures on UOC parishes in that region. Following the adoption of the law banning the UOC, the majority of communities there likewise remained with the UOC.
