Seven new Christians were baptized at the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia’s mission in Jamaica

Last weekend marked a significant event for the Jamaican Orthodox Mission of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (ROCOR): seven young people received the sacraments of Baptism and Chrismation, becoming members of the Orthodox Church. According to OrthoChristian, the solemn service took place on Saturday, August 29, at St. Moses Murin Church, located in Falmouth (Trelony District).

The sacraments were administered by Hieromonk Constantine (Myers). In a post on social media, the clergyman expressed gratitude to God for “His grace and the work of His hands,” which made it possible to welcome new believers into the Orthodox community. This event marked an important milestone in strengthening missionary activity on the island.

Currently, the Jamaican Mission of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (ROCOR) comprises two parishes: the Church of St. Timothy the Apostle in Kingston and the Church of St. Moses Murin in Falmouth. The community continues to grow, attracting new parishioners and bearing witness to the spread of Orthodoxy in the Caribbean region.
