Crisis in Orthodoxy will cause future unity, - Patriarch Porfirije

Serbian Patriarch Porfiry is convinced that the crisis that the world Orthodoxy is currently experiencing will be the basis for future unity. The First Hierarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church believes that the spirit of division currently reigning in Orthodoxy is contrary to the logic of the Gospel, so the Lord will take care to correct this situation. He said in an interview with the portal bogoslov.ru.
“I am sure that the crisis in which the Orthodox Church is at the moment will eventually be the cause for the triumph of unity, love, mutual understanding and the establishment of the Church as one, holy, soborate and apostolic. Every time we face problems, challenges, and even misunderstandings, if we want to use human logic, or if it is more important and prevails in relation to the logic of Christ, the logic of God, we will go to dead ends and hopeless situations. I see all misunderstandings as temptations, and I see temptations as challenges, I see crises as chances. And today, when we have some misunderstandings or crises within our Orthodox Church, I see them as chances and a call to each of us to examine ourselves and our hearts before Christ,” – said the Serbian Patriarch.
We shall remind you that earlier Patriarch Porfiry stated that the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is a temporary phenomenon, which will sooner or later stop. The hierarch noted that in any confrontations between Orthodoxy and hostile forces, it was always the Church that won.
