"The US position will be negative": Political expert on complete ban of UOC

Ukrainian political scientist Kostyantyn Bondarenko commented on the statements of the Ukrainian government representatives about the implementation of anti-church law No. 3894, aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The political analyst claims that the full implementation of the law will lead to a negative reaction from the United States. He said this in a commentary to the publication “Country.ua”.
“Of course, part of the ruling team in Ukraine will not be able to pass by the entry into force of another part of the church law. There will be a lot of talk about the need for a ban, and perhaps some actions will be taken in this direction. But in general, this activity will be limited. I think the U.S. position will be negative, and it will be communicated formally and informally. As a result, the Ukrainian authorities will restrain both their own and well-wishers’ impulses to finally resolve the issue of the UOC,” – the political scientist predicted.
Earlier, we reported that Mykola Kniazhytskyi, a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the European Solidarity party, expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that most parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have not yet expressed a desire to join the OCU. The MP attributed this situation to the fact that the anti-church law No. 3894 has not yet been fully implemented.
