On the feast day of the heavenly patron of Cherkasy, Metropolitan Feodosiy was unable to lead the service due to a court hearing

On June 11, Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv was unable to attend the service dedicated to the memory of Saint Luke of Crimea — the heavenly patron of the city of Cherkasy and the Zolotonosha region. The reason was a court hearing scheduled for that day in a case opened against him. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Cherkasy Pilgrim”.

The legal proceedings were initiated based on statements by cleric Iosif Zasansky, who had previously joined the OCU.

It is known that in all three court cases against Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, the listed “victims” are Iosif Zasansky and his son, OCU chaplain Nazarii. It was the Zasansky family who, in December 2023, initiated the takeover of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Cherkasy, where Iosif had previously served as a cleric.
