In Odessa region, TRC employees have been holding a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for five days

On June 10, 2025, employees of the Odessa Regional Territorial Center for the Recruitment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (TRC) forcibly mobilized the rector of the Holy Trinity Church of the UOC in the village of Troyanove, Archpriest Alexander Moskovchuk. The priest has been held at the military registration and enlistment office for five days and is being forced to sign a contract for military service. This was reported by the press service of the Odessa Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

«Despite his age and poor health, as well as the canonical impossibility of taking up arms and the impossibility of mobilization in accordance with the law, the clergyman was and is being forced to sign a contract for military service, threatening and exerting psychological pressure, transporting him to various departments of the TRC and military units in the Odessa region and Ukraine,» — the Odessa diocese of the UOC reported.

We previously reported that Archimandrite Pafnutius, abbot of the Pochaiv Holy Spirit Monastery-Skete, who was detained two days earlier by employees of the Territorial Recruitment Center of the Ternopil region, was sent from the military registration and enlistment office to one of the military units in the Rivne region.
