The political ambitions of the LGBT march in Moldova

On June 15, 2025, an LGBT+ community march took place in Chisinau as part of the Moldova Pride 2025 festival. It went ahead despite a ban by the city authorities and huge public outrage.
This reaction is quite understandable: after all, it was not just another march. As a number of experts point out, it was an open ideological clash, with faith and tradition on one side and brute force and ideals alien to society, supported by the authorities, on the other.
On the day when the Church honored All Saints, in the heart of Chisinau, near the monument to Stefan cel Mare, about 50 priests and 500 believers of the Moldovan Orthodox Church stood in prayer. They prayed for the preservation of the Orthodox soul of Moldova. In Bălți, Cahul, and Soroca, there were processions with prayers for the enlightenment of those who had strayed. These were peaceful and spiritual actions by those who care about the fate of their country.
And what did the Church see in response? The authorities, who should protect their people, threw all their forces into guarding the so-called “pride” march, which the city council had banned but which took place anyway. This march no longer hid its political ambitions: its participants openly declared that they represented 5% of the electorate, ready to form a party and change the laws to suit themselves.
And for the sake of this political demonstration (and, most likely, future political partners of the authorities), the Chisinau police used brutal force against those who came out peacefully to express their disagreement with LGBT propaganda. The security forces threw a priest to the ground. They also attacked a father with a child, who hit his head on the asphalt as a result of the actions of the man in uniform. Other peaceful participants in the march in support of family values were beaten and detained without any grounds.
Why did this happen? There is more than just a political reason behind it. It is the result of many years of purposeful work carried out by a network of NGOs, generously funded from abroad.
Think about it: back in 2018, Moldova was considered one of the most uncomfortable countries for LGBT propaganda. And in just five years, according to European ratings, Moldova has jumped 14 positions up the list. How? It’s very simple — through systematic changes to laws under pressure from lobbyists.
The organization GENDERDOC-M, founded in the early 2000s with money from foreign foundations, plays a key role in this. Today, it not only coordinates the LGBT movement, but also openly targets parliament. This structure, which uses huge foreign budgets, has been actively working with young people for a long time.
And the scariest thing is that they have taken on children. This NGO runs “psychological assistance” centers where transgender ideology is imposed on teenagers. One such case has already ended in tragedy—a girl who attended these courses committed suicide. But even this did not stop LGBT lobbyists.
Against this backdrop, many in Moldova are asking: what does the future hold for the country? After all, when the faith of our ancestors is outlawed and peaceful prayer is forcibly stopped for the sake of a political march promoting sin, this is the point beyond which the future of Moldovan children and the state is threatened.
The Moldovan Church calls on everyone to pray for their homeland. The enemy of the human race is not sleeping, and his goal is people’s souls. Especially those souls that are now innocent and do not seek sin.
P.S. We thank subscribers of our channel from Moldova for preparing the text. They also sent us the reaction of ordinary people to the promotion of LGBT propaganda. In particular, these gifs. As we can see, society does not accept alien ideas and ideologies. And resistance to this is happening in different directions. Including in social networks, where memes, gifs, videos literally “destroy” LGBT propaganda. ⬇️
