Supreme Court to Review Case on Eviction of UOC from Assumption Cathedral in Volodymyr

The case regarding the eviction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church community from the Holy Assumption Cathedral in the city of Volodymyr has now been transferred to the Supreme Court. The reason was a cassation appeal filed by the defendant — the cathedral community. This was reported by the Suspilne Lutsk news agency.
On June 20, Oleksandr Hargola, head of the Legal Department of the Volyn Regional State Administration, stated that the session of the North-Western Commercial Court of Appeal scheduled for June 19 was canceled due to the appeal.
He clarified that the case will now be considered by the Supreme Court in Kyiv. The preliminary date for the hearing is July 8, 2025.
It is also worth noting that Volyn Regional Council deputy Yuliia Vusenko commented on the court proceedings concerning the cathedral in Volodymyr, emphasizing the need for a clear and decisive court ruling. In her opinion, the church should have long ago been transferred under the jurisdiction of the OCU.
