Zelensky personally gave the go-ahead for the seizure of the cathedral in Chernivtsi, - MP Dmytruk

Ukrainian MP Artem Dmitruk stated that Volodymyr Zelensky bears personal responsibility for the attempt by supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to seize the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Chernivtsi. The deputy noted that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the police coordinated with Zelensky the seizure of the cathedral of the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, but the believers were able to defend the shrine. Dmitruk spoke about this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest.

«The SBU gives Zelensky a note saying that there are all the possibilities to seize the cathedral in Chernivtsi. Zelensky gives his approval. In the morning, they enter the cathedral with weapons, beat priests, beat parishioners, beat a poor woman who was washing the floor in the temple. They occupy the territory of the temple. The police and the SBU cooperate with them. More than a hundred young people, recruited for “three kopecks.” The police protect them. The mayor of the city publishes information that “the fortress has been taken, we have won, the temple has been taken.” Zelensky receives a signal: “Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, the mission is accomplished, we are ready to move on,”» — the deputy said.

Artem Dmitruk added that because the temple could not be captured, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a “red card.” The deputy claims that in connection with the described situation, “hysteria broke out” in the Office of the President of Ukraine.

«Next, we see civil confrontation. Local residents begin to gather at the temple — parishioners of this temple who pray there. These are hundreds of people: men and women. They come into confrontation with the police, with the invaders. […] And after an hour and a half, the police ask the people to allow the invaders to leave the temple and arrange a corridor for them. There is hysteria in Zelensky’s office; the plan has failed. Civil confrontation with the regime has manifested itself in one city. And Klymenko, the Minister of Internal Affairs, receives his first “red card.” He has failed to accomplish Zelensky’s task of subduing the citizens of the country,» — added Dmytruk.

Earlier, we reported that the largest Greek church media Romfea and The Orthodox Times published materials on the unsuccessful attempt to seize the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Chernivtsi by supporters of the OCU. The authors of the publications do not hide their shock at the event and call on Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to finally intervene in the “shameful situation” taking place in Ukrainian Orthodoxy.
