The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church thanked the Bulgarian Patriarch for his support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, congratulated His Holiness Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria on the anniversary of his enthronement. In his congratulatory message, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church thanked his brother for his support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the Communications Service of the DECR of the Russian Orthodox Church.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for your support of the persecuted Ukrainian Orthodox Church and for every word you have spoken in defense of our oppressed brothers,” — Patriarch Kirill said.

Earlier, Bulgarian Patriarch Daniel commented on the Bulgarian Orthodox Church’s attitude toward the Ukrainian church crisis. The primate noted that the Bulgarian Church remains among the 11 Local Orthodox Churches that do not recognize the OCU. He is convinced that the Ukrainian church issue will be resolved in due course.
