Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has sent warm congratulations to Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. In his message, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church emphasized the importance of Patriarch Theophilos’s ministry, stating: «On this day, half a century ago, the Lord was pleased to elevate you to the holy priesthood so that you might offer prayers, supplications, intercessions, and thanksgivings from the heart for all people.» This was reported by the Greek international church agency Orthodoxia News Agency.

Patriarch Kirill especially acknowledged the contribution of the Jerusalem Primate to preserving church peace and canonical order within Orthodoxy:

«For nearly 20 years, you have diligently carried out your Patriarchal ministry in the land of Palestine, faithfully preaching the word of truth to your flock, working to strengthen peace and uphold canonical Orthodoxy.»

The message concludes with words of support and prayerful solidarity:

«Now, as the entire flock of the Holy Church of Jerusalem prays with heartfelt reverence for your good health and longevity, I join in these sincere prayers and wish Your Beatitude spiritual strength and the inexhaustible help of our Savior Christ in your high ministry.»
