The Brotherhood of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Congratulated Metropolitan Pavlo on His Name Day

On July 11, 2025, the brotherhood of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra congratulated their abbot, Metropolitan Pavlo of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl, on his name day. In the message to the hierarch, it is noted that at a time when the archpastor is enduring persecution and trials, his example of faithfulness to the Church, courage, and spiritual steadfastness especially inspires the monastic community. The congratulatory message was published on the Lavra’s official website.
«You bear witness to your faithfulness to the Church, the courage of an archpastor, and fearless devotion to the will of God not in words but in deeds—just like the Apostle Paul, who, even in chains, continued to preach the Truth,» the message reads.
It is emphasized that the Metropolitan’s name is not only a remembrance of a great saint but also a reflection of his own spiritual path: like the Apostle to the Nations, the hierarch tirelessly labors in Christ’s vineyard, supporting the faithful through his words, prayers, and example.
«Your patience and dignity in these difficult circumstances serve as a spiritual lesson for all of us. We pray for you daily and believe that the Truth will prevail,» the brotherhood underlines.
In conclusion, the clergy of the Lavra called upon the mercy of God to strengthen Metropolitan Pavlo in his struggle, to grant him spiritual joy, physical health, and the support of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Apostle Paul, and the Venerable Fathers of the Caves.
Earlier, it was reported that on April 5, 2025, an online conversation took place between Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem and Metropolitan Pavlo (Lebid), abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The primate of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church conveyed words of support to Metropolitan Pavlo and the monks of the Kyiv-Pechersk monastery.
