Religious scholar and OCU lobbyist Alexander Brodetsky criticized the appeal of the hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to Volodymyr Zelenskyy in support of Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, related to the deprivation of citizenship of the Primate of the UOC. Brodecki believes that the bishops should have acknowledged their mistakes in the text of the appeal and not subjected their activities to criticism. He spoke about this in a comment to the publication Espreso.
“As for the appeal, it is worth noting that we see a structure incapable of moral reflection or self-criticism. The document contains only laudatory statements, without any hint of awareness of their own mistakes. There is no attempt to admit that perhaps we and our primate did something wrong,” — Brodetsky said.
