Despite the Tomos, the OCU continues to encroach on the canonical territory of the Polish Orthodox Church

Despite the provisions of the Tomos issued to Ukrainian schismatics by Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, the OCU continues to develop “chaplaincy missions” on the territory of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church. This time, on July 27, 2025, representatives of the OCU hierarchy held religious services in Warsaw, timed to coincide with the second anniversary of the violation of the canonical territory of the Polish Church. This was reported on the OCU’s Telegram channel.

It is reported that the solemn events were led by OCU hierarchs Hilarion Protsyk and Mitrofan Butynsky. During the “service,” representatives of the organization even ordained one of their supporters to the “diaconate.”

“Even far from home, we remain the Church — a place of strength, faith, and unity. Wherever prayers are said in Ukrainian, Ukraine lives,” — said Ilarion Protsyk.

It should also be recalled that on July 22, 2025, Epiphaniy Dumenko met with Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Republic of Poland, Vasyl Bodnar. The conversation focused on potential cooperation, particularly in caring for Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
