Traditional Procession from Brailiv Monastery to Pochaev Lavra Canceled Due to Authorities’ Order

The Vinnytsia Eparchy announced that this year’s annual procession from Brailiv Monastery to the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, traditionally held on the Feast of the Dormition, will not take place. This was reported on the Vinnytsia Eparchy page of the UOC.

The eparchy’s press service clarified that the decision is related to the ban on mass events imposed by the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration.

Believers were urged to understand the cancellation of the procession and to strengthen their personal prayers for peace, protection, and Ukraine’s victory.

Earlier, it was reported that on July 31, 2025, in the village of Demydivka in Rivne region, supporters of the OCU blocked the route of the UOC believers’ procession traveling from Volyn region to the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra for the feast honoring the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God. In previous years, participants of the procession traditionally spent the night at the St. John the Theologian UOC Church in Demydivka, but this time local OCU supporters drove them out of the village.
