Metropolitan of the Bulgarian Church Leads All-Night Vigil at the Transfiguration Skete of the Bancheny Monastery

On August 18, 2025, on the eve of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the patronal feast of the Transfiguration Skete of the Bancheny Monastery, the all-night vigil at the main church of the monastery was led by Metropolitan Gavriil of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, head of the Lovech Diocese. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese of the UOC.
The service was attended by hierarchs of the Ukrainian and Bulgarian Orthodox Churches, clergy of the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese, as well as guests in holy orders.
Earlier, the Synod of the BOC addressed the faithful, media, and cultural institutions, urging vigilance regarding the activities of self-proclaimed “spiritual leaders” and their communities, which often mix pagan beliefs with Christian elements. The Bulgarian Orthodox Church stated that it firmly rejects attempts to present Jesus Christ as one of many “spiritual teachers” or as an incarnation of the Hindu deity Krishna.
