On the morning of March 28, 2025, representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, accompanied by the police, seized the Near and Far Caves of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, where the imperishable relics of the Kyiv-Pechersk monks rest. The invaders broke down the doors at the entrances to the Caves and installed their own locks.
At the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, employees of the “reserve” desecrated the relics of the saints
On August 19, 2025, employees of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve took the relics of the Kyiv-Pechersk saints from the monastery’s Near Caves and performed unknown manipulations on them. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Fortress Lavra.”
«The relics of the saints have been laid out on the street. Employees of the reserve are performing some kind of manipulation on them. They are handling them with their bare hands, drying something. It looks wild, horrible, and disrespectful to our saints. What is happening with the relics themselves is unknown. Since the brothers were denied access to the caves a few months ago, our reverend fathers have been in a completely unknown state. The feeling of terrible blasphemy does not go away,» — the message says.
