The head of the Orthodox Church in America expressed his support for the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The head of the Orthodox Church in America, Metropolitan Tikhon of Washington, expressed his support for the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine. Metropolitan Tikhon noted the difficult situation in which the Ukrainian Orthodox Church currently finds itself, assuring the Primate of the Ukrainian Church of his brotherly and prayerful friendship. He wrote about this in his greeting on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the enthronement of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry.

«The Holy Apostle Paul commands believers to love one another with brotherly affection, and the Holy Apostle Peter commands us to have fervent mercy and unchanging love for one another (Rom. 12:10; 1 Pet. 4:8). With this affection, mercy, and love, I greet you, my brother, on this anniversary and assure you of my unwavering and unceasing support for Your Beatitude in your primatial ministry, as well as my prayers and support for the entire long-suffering Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the entire people of Ukraine. I reaffirm the love of the clergy and faithful of the Orthodox Church in America for their Ukrainian brothers. “The Lord has called you and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to share in His sufferings, and as you carry this cross, I pray that you will continue to find strength in the Passion of Christ, which He endured in the flesh for the salvation of all», — wrote His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon.
