Robert Amsterdam speaks out about pressure over protection of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

Robert Amsterdam, head of the international human rights law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP, which represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has reported that he is under pressure. The lawyer attributes this to his human rights activities on behalf of the UOC. He wrote about this on his social media account.

“Those who attack me (a person arrested by Putin and deported from Russia) for my defense of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) never cite specific facts. There is no evidence that the UOC is linked to Russia. Zelensky wants to deprive Ukraine of independent institutions,” – Amsterdam said.

Earlier, we reported that Robert Amsterdam had become a defendant in a number of criminal cases in Ukraine for defending the UOC. The lawyer is accused of collaborating with former MP Vadym Novinsky and “destabilizing the religious situation” in Ukraine.
