OCU called the banner with the image of Jesus Christ, which was carried by participants in the Cross Procession in Pochaiv, “the flag of the DPR”

The scandalous “chaplain” of the OCU, Roman Hryshchuk, who oversees the raider seizures of churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Bukovina, has criticized the Cross Procession of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from Kamianets-Podilskyi to the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra. Gryshchuk called the procession “an occupation of western Ukraine,” adding that the banners with the image of Jesus Christ “are the flags of the DPR, with which Girkin captured Donbas.” This was reported by the regional publication TERMINOVO.

“Don’t tell me about icons of Jesus Christ. This is not an icon, not even a banner! This is an ordinary flag of the “DPR” militants, which was consecrated by Moscow priests for Girkin-Strelkov, before which Zakharchenko (the self-proclaimed head of the so-called “DPR” Alexander Zakharchenko, liquidated in 2018 — Ed.) and under which those who kill Ukrainians are fighting! This is the flag of “Russian Orthodox fascism” under which Russians go into battle,” – Hryshchuk wrote.

We will remind you that on August 25, 2025, employees of the Ternopil Regional Administration of the Territorial Recruitment Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine subjected the cleric of the Kremenchug Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Bogdan Matvienko, to forced mobilization. The clergyman participated in the Cross Procession of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from Kamianets-Podilskyi to the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra.
