You cannot make part of society wrong on the basis of religion, - MP Mazurashu

Ukrainian MP Georgy Mazurashu drew attention to the fact that Ukrainian society is being divided, in particular, along religious lines. The MP noted that most of the accusations against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are unfounded, since believers of the UOC are often more patriotic than the rest of society. The MP’s words were reported by the media.
«I know a lot of people who go to the UOC and speak Russian, but they are incomparably greater patriots of Ukraine than those who ‘tear their shirts’ and shout ‘Glory to Ukraine’ — not always realizing what they are shouting, why, and whether it is appropriate. But based on language or church affiliation, we want to label part of society as ‘wrong’ and declare them internal enemies. This is unacceptable,» — the MP emphasized.
Earlier, Ukrainian MP Artem Dmitruk stated that the Ukrainian authorities’ actions to desecrate the relics of the Kiev-Pechersk saints were a personal initiative of Volodymyr Zelensky. Dmitruk added that the OCU, which is subservient to the authorities, is also directly involved in the plundering of the shrines of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra for their subsequent sale.
