In Rivne region, TRC took a UOC priest from the cemetery after the funeral of a Ukrainian soldier

On August 29, in the village of Pyriatyn, Rivne region, officers of the Territorial Recruitment Center detained Archpriest Volodymyr Hlavatksyi right during a funeral. The priest, dressed in liturgical vestments, was praying at the grave of a fallen defender of Ukraine when he was handed a draft notice. This was reported by Pershyi Kozatskyi.

The incident was reported on Telegram by another mobilized clergyman – Father Ioann Polishchuk.

“Archpriest Volodymyr Hlavatksyi was given a draft notice by the TRC right in his vestments at the grave. As usual, they quickly drew up a medical commission, and now Father Volodymyr is already at the training ground. The parish is left without a priest,” he wrote.

Earlier, we reported that on August 25, 2025, employees of the Ternopil Regional Recruitment Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine subjected Archpriest Bohdan Matviiv, a cleric of the Kremenchuk Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to forced mobilization. The priest had taken part in the Cross Procession of UOC believers from Kamianets-Podilskyi to the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra.
