In the Chernihiv Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, two priests were banned from serving for causing a schism

On September 2, 2025, the Chernihiv Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church published a statement on the suspension of two clergymen from ministry. The clergymen are accused of schism. This was reported on the official Facebook page of the Chernihiv Diocese of the UOC.
It is reported that Archimandrite Seraphim (Lisovyi), rector of the parish of St. John the Theologian, and Hieromonk Andriy Bezzub, rector of the Holy Ascension parish, have been banned from serving for schism. The clergymen decided to transfer to the OCU.
We recall that on August 27, 2025, by decree of Bishop John of Izyum and Kupyansk, Archpriest Vitaly Berkin, rector of the Church of St. John the Theologian in the village of Ternova, Chuguev District, Kharkiv Region, was banned from serving.
