We recall that on September 2, 2025, in the Rivne region, TRC employees forcibly mobilized the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bishop Seraphim (Kadubyansky) of Novovorontsov. Along with the bishop, his assistant, Hieromonk Gabriel (Kinaschuk), was also detained.
Robert Amsterdam called the forced mobilization of the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church “religious repression”

Robert Amsterdam, head of the international human rights law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP, which represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has called the forced mobilization of UOC clergy “religious repression.” Amsterdam noted that such situations are impossible in a truly democratic society. He wrote about this on his account on the social network X.
“Outrageous behavior. And this from those who profess democratic values! Shame on the hypocrites who deny the reality of religious repression!!!”, – Amsterdam wrote.
