Earlier, the head of the Synodal Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Klyment (Vecheria), stated that representatives of the State Service for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience should be held responsible for using documents from the Russian Orthodox Church, which is banned in Ukraine, in their research on the UOC.
The DESS announced the date of the court hearing in the case concerning the ban on the UOC

The State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience has announced the date of the first court hearing on the lawsuit demanding the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. DESS reported that the case is scheduled to be heard in court on September 30, 2025. The information was published on the State Service website.
“In order to comply with the provisions of the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine regarding the publication of information on the official website of the central executive body that implements state policy in the field of religion, or the body authorized to register the charter (regulations) of the relevant religious organization, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience announces that by a decision of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal dated September 3, 2025, proceedings have been opened in case No. 855/11/25 on the administrative claim of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience (identification code according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs 43571959, address: Ukraine, 01001, Kyiv, Muzeinyi Lane, 12) against the religious organization “KYIV METROPOLIS OF THE UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH” (identification code according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs 21510633, address: Ukraine, 01015, Kyiv, Lavrska Street, 15, building 49) on the termination of the activities of the religious organization. The case is scheduled to be heard in court on September 30, 2025, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal (courtroom No. 6) at the following address: Kyiv, 8 Knyaziv Ostrozkykh St., building 30,” – the DESS statement said.
