OCU continues to invade the canonical territory of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia

On October 1, 2025, in Prague, on the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine and the Feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the new style, representatives of the OCU held religious events organized by the OCU Chaplaincy Mission in the Czech Republic. The celebrations took place despite the fact that the organization, according to the provisions of the Tomos, is prohibited from operating outside Ukraine. Together with the OCU, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic Vasyl Zvarych and diplomats of the embassy took part in the events. This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic.
It is reported that in his speech, Ambassador Vasyl Zvarych emphasized the importance of the unity of the Ukrainian people and faith in the victory over Russia. He noted that Ukraine will definitely win, “because God is with us, and we, as the Ukrainian people, have been under the protection of the Intercession of the Virgin since ancient times.”
“I want to wish everyone that the Ukrainian people pass on this faith in Ukraine to their children, relatives, friends, and Czech friends, so that they too can feel the strength of the Ukrainian people – the strength of our unity, the strength of our language and faith!” the diplomat urged.
We recently reported that Ukrainian schismatics formed a “chaplaincy mission” on the canonical territory of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia. The actual parish of the OCU in the Czech Republic will operate in the city of Brno, and the first religious event was held on August 23, 2025. The OCU is not deterred by the fact that the opening of parishes abroad is expressly prohibited by the “Tomos of Autocephaly”, which provides for the organization’s functioning only within Ukraine.
