Administrator of the Vladimir-Volyn diocese of the UOC recognized unfit for military service

The hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Volodymyr-Volynskyy and Kovel Volodymyr Melnyk, has been declared unfit for military service following the results of a military medical commission. In connection with this decision, made on the basis of the clergyman’s health condition, he will be excluded from military registration.
According to the publication «BUG», earlier the Territorial Center for Manning and Social Support (TCC and SP) obliged the 57-year-old bishop to undergo a medical examination for suitability for military service. The fact of passing the commission was confirmed by the press secretary of the Volyn TSC and SP, Ulyana Kravchuk. She specified that Metropolitan Volodymyr had indeed undergone a medical examination at the TCC, where he is registered.
According to the results of the examination, taking into account the clergyman’s diseases, the commission made a verdict that he was unfit for military service. In the future, the case materials will be transferred to the 16th Regional Military Medical Commission for final confirmation of this conclusion.
We shall remind you that on September 2, 2025 in Rivne region, TCC officers subjected to forced mobilization the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bishop Seraphim (Kadubiansky) of Novovorontsivske. Together with the bishop, they detained his assistant, Hieromonk Gabriel (Kinashchuk).
