The head of the UOC-KP appeared in public for the first time after meeting with Epiphany

on November 11, 2025, a working meeting was held between the head of the UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko and the organization’s administrator Andriy Marutsak. During the meeting, current issues of church life were discussed, and the main outcome was the decision to accept a new religious community into the UOC-KP. This is the first public appearance of Filaret Denisenko after his meeting with the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko.
According to the organization’s press service, Filaret Denisenko personally reviewed the documents “provided by the priest and the community’s believers” (presumably, this refers to Yaroslav Yasenets – ed.), and then approved their accession to the UOC-KP.
During the conversation, Andriy Marutsak conveyed to Filaret Denisenko assurances “of the prayers of the clergy and believers for his health.” He also emphasized that “the presence of the head of the UOC-KP at services serves as an inspiring example for the clergy and parishioners,” encouraging them to an active spiritual life.
Earlier, we reported that the Odesa-Baltsk Diocese of the UOC-KP issued an official statement in which it announced its unwavering support for Filaret Denisenko and accused the OCU of provocations. The key point was the allegation of attempts by representatives of the OCU to destroy the spiritual will of the “honorary patriarch.”
