In Transcarpathia, another UOC priest falls into schism and joins OCU

Archpriest Vitaly Chorba, rector of the religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Pashkivtsi, Mukachevo district, Transcarpathian region, falled into schism and joined the OCU. It is reported that the priest made the decision not independently, but jointly with members of the UOC parish he leads.
The head of the Uzhhorod diocese of the OCU, Varsonofiy Rudnik, informed about the transfer of the community and its rector on his Facebook page. Previously, the parish and its priest belonged to the Mukachevo Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The reaction of the head of the Mukachevo Diocese of the UOC to the actions of Archpriest Vitaly Chorba has not yet been reported.
Earlier, we reported that a cleric of the Khust diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Theodore Holodniak, was banned from priesthood. According to the decree signed on November 18, 2025, by Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynogradiv, the reason for this decision was a violation of the priestly oath, betrayal of the Church and falling into schism.
