Two court hearings on the case of Metropolitan Arseny are scheduled for December 4

On December 4, 2025 two court hearings on the case of the vicar of the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra, Metropolitan Arseniy are scheduled at once. The hearings will take place in two different courts in the city of Dnipro. In addition, the appeal hearing, scheduled for the beginning of the month, was postponed. This is reported in the official Telegram channel of the Lavra.
The first meeting will be held at 12:30 in the Chechelovsky district court of the city of Dnipro. Within its framework will be held another preparatory hearing on the first case brought against the hierarch. Earlier this case was transferred from the Slavyanskiy city district court.
The second hearing is scheduled for 15:30 at the Soborny District Court of Dnipro. The court will consider the defense’s application for recusal of the investigating judge V.P. Boyko.
It also became known that the meeting of the Dnipro Court of Appeal, which was to be held on December 2, did not take place on the appointed date. It was scheduled to consider the lawyers’ complaints against the November 3 decision of the Soborny Court to take Metropolitan Arseniy into custody. The hearing was postponed because the case materials were not transferred from the court of first instance to the court of appeal. Tentatively, a new hearing will be held on December 9.
