Israeli settlers attacked the Christian village of al-Taybeh

A series of attacks perpetrated by Israeli settlers have been recorded in the West Bank. On Friday morning, two cars were burned in the Christian village of al-Taiba, and the day before, two people were seriously injured by smoke poisoning after a car was set on fire at the Shilo junction.
According to news.israelinfo.co.il, citing Palestinian sources, a group of masked individuals infiltrated the village of al-Taibeh, east of Ramallah, on Friday. The attackers set fire to two cars belonging to a local family and sprayed racist slogans on the walls. It is noted that the villagers resisted, after which the attackers retreated.
This is the sixth such attack for the residents of El Taybeh. The incident occurred against the background of preparations for Christmas, as the majority of the population of the village are Christians of various denominations. The previous day, a festive fair had opened in the town, attended by foreign diplomats and local residents.
The event was preceded by an incident on Thursday at the Shilo junction. According to the source, some 50 masked young settlers threw stones at Palestinian cars, burned tires on the road and set up a makeshift «checkpoint.» They stopped a car carrying Palestinians and set it on fire. The man and woman in the car were rescued, but both were hospitalized in serious condition due to smoke poisoning.
Recall, earlier Patriarchs and heads of Christian Churches of Jerusalem visited the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in the village of Taybeh in the West Bank to express solidarity with the local community after the fire set by Jews in the temple and in the local Christian cemetery.
