Trials in the case of Metropolitan of Sviatogorsk Arseniy are scheduled for December 10 in Dnipro

In the Soborny District Court of the city of Dnipro on December 10, 2025 two court hearings on the case of the vicar of Sviatogorsk Lavra Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatogorsk are scheduled. During the hearings the lawyers of the vladyka plan to consider applications for recusal of the investigator and the investigating judge.

According to Telegram-channel «Sviatogorsk Lavra», the sessions will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. They are scheduled for 16:30 and 17:00 and will be held at the address: the city of Dnipro, Gusenko Street, 13.

The purpose of these sessions is to consider the applications of Metropolitan Arseniy’s attorneys who are seeking the recusal of the investigator and the investigating judge involved in the investigation of the case. This is an important step in the legal defense of the Vicar of Sviatogorsk Lavra, who is currently in custody.

The brethren of the Sviatogorsk Lavra, in turn, appealed to the faithful with a request for prayerful support for the imprisoned Metropolitan Arseny and all the inhabitants of the monastery during this difficult period.

Recall, we recently reported that the Chechelovsky district court of the city of Dnipro on December 6, 2025 extended the term of detention of the vicar of the Sviatogorsk Lavra Metropolitan Arseny for another 60 days, until February 3, 2026. This decision was made against the backdrop of numerous procedural violations, including the non-admission of lawyers and people’s deputies, as well as ignoring the statements of nine deputies of the Verkhovna Rada about their willingness to bail the vicar or post bail.
