DESS initiated appeal proceedings on the termination of the Korets Monastery's activity

The State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) announced the opening of appeal proceedings before the Supreme Court in the case on the termination of the activity of Korets Holy Trinity Women’s Stavropegial Monastery.

According to the State Service of Ukraine on Ethno-politics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS), the determination to open appeal proceedings was made by the Supreme Court of Ukraine in a panel of judges of the Cassation Administrative Court on December 8, 2025. This proceeding No. A/990/18/25 was initiated on the appeal of the DESS.

HESS’s appeal is directed against the determination of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal of November 24, 2025 in Case No. 855/14/25. The lawsuit filed by DESS concerns the termination of the activities of the religious organization “Korets Holy Trinity Women’s STAVROPIGIAL MONASTRY of the Moscow Patriarchate”.

Recall, earlier we reported that the media established the total number of real estate owned by Korets Holy Trinity Stavropigial Women’s Stavropigial Monastery of the Russian Orthodox Church, located in Rivne region. Journalists expect that all the property of the monastery will be expropriated by the state after the Holy Trinity Monastery loses its legal registration.
