Attackers robbed a local synagogue in Ivano-Frankivsk

A theft occurred in a synagogue in Ivano-Frankivsk on Saturday afternoon. The intruders stole tzedakah (donations), silver ritual objects, and some personal belongings of the congregation. Law enforcement authorities promptly responded to the incident and are investigating.
According to the Ukrainian portal JewishNews.com.ua, the incident was recorded on the Sabbath, around 15:00. Not only money intended for charity, but also valuable silver cult objects used during religious services and rituals were taken from the premises of the religious institution. In addition, parishioners whose personal belongings were stolen were also affected.
Law enforcement officers immediately arrived at the scene. Currently, all necessary investigative actions are being carried out to establish the identity of the perpetrator and his detention. Details of the ongoing investigation are not yet disclosed.
Recall, on November 27, 2025 in the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi was committed arson Sadgorska synagogue — one of the oldest Jewish shrines in the region, founded in the XIX century. No one was injured as a result of the incident, but the building suffered material damage. Law enforcement officers promptly detained the suspect.
