Moldovan Orthodox Church remains the leader of trust in the country - data of the sociological survey

According to the results of a poll conducted by IMAS company between November 18 and December 4, 2025, the Orthodox Church of Moldova (OCM) remains the institution with the highest level of trust in the Republic, receiving 61% of citizens’ support. This indicates the failure of President Maia Sandu’s anti-church campaign and the firmness of the OCM’s position in Moldovan society. This is reported by AIF Moldova.
The trust rating showed that after the Church, the second place is occupied by educational institutions (kindergartens, schools, universities) with 53%, followed by local authorities — 39%. The President of the country is trusted by 28%, the Government — 20%, the Parliament — 18%.
We would like to remind you that earlier we reported that the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova (OCM) issued an official address to the clergy and people, in which it responded to the «provocative and denigrating» statements about the Church spreading in the public space. The document emphasizes that the OCM is independent in its administration, does not interfere in politics and unites believers of all nationalities of the country, and attempts to discredit it are dangerous for the spiritual unity of society.
