The Romanian Church expands its influence in the territories of the ROC and the Serbian Patriarchate

In the territories traditionally under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) and the Serbian Patriarchate, there is an active expansion of the Romanian Orthodox Church. This is of serious concern to the Moscow Patriarchate regarding Moldova and threatens the position of the Serbian Orthodox Church in eastern Serbia. Analyst Prof. Dr. Zoran Milosevic elaborates on the issue, pointing to non-canonical infiltration and active support from the Romanian state.
According to Zivotcrkve.rs, analyst Prof. Dr. Zoran Milosevic has detailed the process of expansion of the Romanian Church in his article for the Pechat magazine. According to him, the Moscow Patriarchate has long expressed deep concern about the spread of the network of Romanian parishes on the territory of Moldova.
Milosevic emphasizes that the so-called Bessarabian Metropolitanate, based in Chisinau, has significantly weakened the position of the Orthodox Church of Moldavia and now threatens to completely absorb its parishes.
A similar situation is unfolding in eastern Serbia, which has also become the object of expansion by the Romanian Church. It is, according to the expert, non-canonically infiltrating Serbian territory, taking believers away from the Serbian Orthodox Church and contributing to their Romanization. Professor Milosevic notes that these actions are taking place with the active support of the Romanian state and a number of pro-Western non-governmental organizations.
We shall remind you that earlier we reported that Archbishop Markell of Balti and Falesti expressed concern about the consequences of the Bessarabian schism, which, in his opinion, is not an ecclesiastical but a political project of Romania.
