On January 31, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, will hold religious events at the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr-Volynskyi, which was previously taken away by the state from the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The event will take place as part of the recent decision of the Volyn Regional State Administration to transfer the complex of buildings of the ancient Holy Dormition Cathedral, which included the cathedral, diocesan administration and theological school of the Vladimir-Volyn Diocese of the UOC, to the control of the OCU.
According to the Facebook page of the Vladimir-Volyn Diocese of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko’s visit is scheduled for Saturday, January 31. According to the announcement, the head of the OCU will hold religious events at the Assumption Cathedral, and detailed information about Dumenko’s visit to the diocese will be announced later.
Earlier, we reported that the complex of premises of the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Volodymyr was officially transferred to the use of the religious community of the OCU for a period of five years. At the same time, the relevant bodies of the Volyn Regional Administration claim to supervise the buildings during the period of their lease by representatives of the OCU.
