In Khmelnitsky, TCC employees kidnapped a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

In Khmelnytskyi, TCC officers illegally detained and took away in an unknown direction the rector of the Intercession Church in the village of Redvintsy, Archpriest Maxim Moskalchuk. It is reported that the incident occurred in the morning of January 28, 2026, when the priest was on his way to work. TCC employees forcibly took his phone away from him and took him to Khmelnytsky city TCC against his will.
According to the diocesan press service, Archpriest Maxim agreed to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but refused to take up arms, citing international law and the clergyman’s spiritual mission. Despite this, he was loaded onto a bus and taken to an unknown direction. There is no contact with him.
The diocese calls to support Fr. Maxim in word, deed and prayer, as well as to disseminate information about what happened.
We will remind, earlier we reported that in Bukovyna employees of the Territorial Center of Completion (TCC) detained the cleric of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) Archpriest Oleh Ostafyuk. The cleric, who is the rector of two parishes, was stopped at a checkpoint and then taken to the TCC.
