In Kiev, TCC officers detained a cleric of one of the monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

On January 28, 2026, TCC officers detained Archpriest Oleksandr Itsenko, a minister of the Cyrill Monastery in Kyiv. The TCC officers said that “you only need to update the data”, after which they took him to an unknown direction. This is reported by the SPJ.

It is reported that the priest was stopped on the way to the all-night vigil, despite the fact that he was not on the wanted list and had with him all the necessary documents. Parishioners of the monastery appeal to the faithful with a request for prayerful support and dissemination of information about the detention of the archpriest.

We will remind, earlier we reported that in Bukovyna employees of the Territorial Center of Completion (TCC) detained the cleric of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) Archpriest Oleh Ostafyuk. The cleric, who is the rector of two parishes, was stopped at a checkpoint and then taken to the TCC.
