MP Bobrovska calls on Greek Catholics and other denominations to "facilitate the transition" of UOC communities to OCU

Ukrainian MP Solomiya Bobrovska has called on Greek Catholics (Uniates) and representatives of other religious denominations to more actively assist the OCU in the process of the so-called transitions of communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) to the Ukrainian schism. The parliamentarian expressed concern about the «freezing» of the situation with transitions and accused the OCU and the UGCC of «insufficient work» with the UOC believers. The MP said this on the air of the Espresso TV channel .
Bobrovska emphasized that despite the previously adopted law banning the UOC, the pace of transitions of church communities remains extremely low. According to her, the situation is actually «frozen,» which poses a serious problem for the process of forming a single Ukrainian local church.
«Let’s be frank: we are not experiencing a rollback, but rather a freezing of the situation with the transitions of communities. This is a huge problem. Not only the patriotic population, but also the churches — the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Greek Catholic Church, and various religious denominations — should work with the communities,» the MP said.
As reported earlier, an incident occurred in the Hetman’s Capital National Historical and Cultural Reserve with the eviction of the sisters of the Baturyn Krupytsia St. Nicholas Convent of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Chernihiv Oblast). According to representatives of the monastery, the actions were carried out without a court decision and with the participation of law enforcement agencies, despite the existence of a valid agreement for the use of the premises and the official registration of the nuns at their place of residence.
